Method to Recover Lost QuickBooks File using ADR
- At first, you will need to create a new folder on your desktop and name it “QuickBooks Test Folder.”
- Now navigate to the folder that holds the company file.
- Right-click the file that has the same name as your company file but with a .TLG extension.
- Select Copy and now go back to the new folder that you have created on the desktop.
- Paste the .TLG file here and open the QuickBooks auto data recovery folder in QuickBooks installation directory.
- Now copy the .QBW.adr file from the folder and paste it in the new folder on the desktop.
- Now right click the .QBW.adr file and select Rename.
- Now remove .adr from the file name and press Enter to save the changes.
- Also move the company file to the new folder and open QuickBooks Desktop application.
- Click the File tab and from under the Utilities sections click Verify Data option.
- If the Verify Data tool found not issues with the copy of the company file, then move it to the original QuickBooks folder and delete the old file that has the damage.
